Yesterday, I achieved another milestone I passed my Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) exam on the first shot. This certification has been a long time coming on my checklist of achievements. For those who are unfamiliar with the CISSP certification, this certification exam is the ideal credential for those with proven broad technical and managerial competence, skills, experience, and credibility to design, engineer, implement, and manage their overall information security program. This is to protect organizations from growing sophisticated attacks. The exam consists of 250 multiple choice questions with a 6-hour window to complete. The exam was not for the faint hearted. The questions were incredibly detailed and challenged me to remove my technical expertise hat and put on my manager's hat. With any certification, the reward is about the experience. Getting prepared for this exam was mentally and physically challenging. Balancing work, family, school, and certification takes a team and a strong support group. I thank God, my wife, and my son for allowing me the time and space to achieve this certification!
Until next post!
